Almost all oil refining complex enterprises use oil pumping station pumps, which are balanced, undemanding, and simple, but have their own soft spot – supporting and sealing assemblies. Unfortunately, there are almost no clean fluids in chemistry, petrochemistry, and oil refining; additionally, the fluids change state during the technological process: they pass from a liquid state to a vapor-gas mixture and back, which all hurts the operation of mechanical seals.
The face seal problem was solved using a double scheme bearing seal block (the BSB pressure exceeds the pump pressure), and it works perfectly not only with clean fluid.
The sliding bearings used in the BSB allowed us to slightly reduce the inter-support distance and ensure a barrier fluid circulation, as well as completely damp the shaft output to the outside from the «field» side, principally eliminating leaks thereby.
The use of sliding bearings allowed the pump's vibration to be reduced, the rolling bearing lubrication system to be eliminated, and noise to be reduced.
